Care

Location

Aloes are fond of a sunny location, but partial shade is also fine. Too little sun and too much water result in dull colours and spindly plants.

Water and manuring

The plants require sandy soil which drains well and limited amounts of water. If the plants stand too long in badly drained soil, root rot may easily occur. Aloes may remain in the same pot soil for several years and fertilising once a month during the summer months is sufficient.

Temperature

In general, Aloes are resistant to heat, however, they do not like cold at all. The ideal temperature during the winter is between 10 and 15°C.
