Flowering time

The blooming time is from February to November, depending on the species. Some plants may start to flower as early as 2 years after being sown (e.g. some Mammilarias, etc.). The others (and in particular the pillar species) usually take longer to bloom. The flowers of most cacti only have a short life, i.e. from 24 hours to 4 or 5 days, depending on the temperature and the species of course. The resting period without water is essential in order for the cactus to bloom.
